NKY Based Firm has Strong Ties to the Super Bowl
Monday, January 27, 2014
January 27, 2014 - Even before it was determined who would play in this
year’s Super Bowl, one local firm was gearing up to join several clients in New
York to help promote the good that NFL greats are doing in their communities.
Prolanthropy, a Florence KY based firm, is the largest and most successful provider of
philanthropy management services in professional sports, specializing in the
formation and management of non-profit foundations of professional athletes.
Prolanthropy has represented
veteran client, Charles Tillman, and his foundation since the company’s
inception in 2008. On January 19th, Tillman was announced as one of
3 finalists for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award. This
award is given to an NFL player to honor their off the field community service,
as well as playing excellence. The winner is awarded a $20,000 donation to a charity
of his choice. Tillman’s 2013 nomination marks the 5th finalist from
Prolanthropy’s client roster, including a 2011 win for Baltimore Raven’s center
Tillman, an All Pro cornerback for the Chicago Bears,
began his Cornerstone Foundation in 2005. The Foundation is dedicated to
providing opportunities and resources to children and families in need,
impacting the lives of well over one million children in the Chicago area.
“Just be being the Bears nominee, I feel
like I’ve already won,” Tillman said. “I want the foundation to get the
recognition, not me personally, because I’m just one of many people who are
part of something great, and that’s helping to run the foundation. Prolanthropy
has been with me from the beginning and it is an honor for them, as much as it
is for me. The publicity the foundation gets, to me that’s winning. Helping out
those families, that’s winning.”
Prolanthropy represents clients
throughout the country, including Super Bowl bound Denver Broncos’ linebacker
Von Miller, and their most recent client addition, Seattle Seahawks’ free
safety Earl Thomas.
Prolanthropy is sending Director of
Foundation Management, Amy Grieme, to New York to represent the Cornerstone
Foundation and many other Prolanthropy clients throughout the week. While
attending festivities surrounding the Big Game, Grieme and the Prolanthropy
staff will be working hard to keep client fans and supporters close to the
celebration by providing social media updates from an insider’s perspective,
and hosting contests with chances to win memorabilia from the game.
