FLORENCE, KY -- In the first six months of 2013, Prolanthropy has added six foundations to the client roster:
"We're growing fast," said Jeff Ginn president and chief executive officer of Prolanthropy. "We're happy to have these guys join our team at Prolanthropy. They're young, energetic and compassionate. We're thrilled to have the opportunity to help them achieve their philanthropic goals."
- Von's Vision, the foundation of Denver Broncos Pro Bowl and All Pro linebacker, Von Miller
- Torrey Smith Foundation, of Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens wide receiver, Torrey Smith
- Spoonful of Hope, the foundation of Atlanta Falcons linebacker, Sean Weatherspoon
- DeMarco Murray Foundation, of Dallas Cowboys linebacker, DeMarco Murray
- Blitz for the Better Foundation, the foundation of Washington Redskins linebacker, Ryan Kerrigan
- Jake Locker's Pass It On Foundation, of Tennessee Titan's quarterback Jake Locker
Each foundation has a unique focus, developed based on the player's individual charitable passions.
The focus of Von's Vision is to give children the corrective eyewear and eye examinations they need to succeed in the classroom and in life. Von, who has worn glasses since childhood, says he has been a "geek" all his life. He aspires to be a role model for children and make them proud to wear their frames.
The goal of Von's Vision is to provide more than 50,000 children with eye exams and corrective eyewear by the end of 2016.
Smith's focus is also children, but those who are at-risk in the Baltimore area. Through literacy mentoring programs and other incentive based platforms, Smith hopes to touch the lives of 35,000 children by 2016.
Weatherspoon has a similar mission, to reach out to at-risk Atlanta youth, providing them school materials and the literacy tools they need to be able to learn. Weatherspoon plans to affect the lives of 150,000 children by 2015.
Murray shares the same passion for children and education. Through the Foundation, Murray hopes to provide low income Dallas children with the educational opportunities, resources and support they need to succeed. Murray's goal is to reach 55,000 children by 2016.
Kerrigan's Blitz for the Better will focus on improving the lives of chronically or critically ill children and their families. Through programs that inspire daily encouragement and life changing experiences, Kerrigan hopes to impact more than 170,000 children by 2015 through the foundation.
The Pass It On Foundation, founded by Jake Locker, holds a similar goal. Locker hopes to have a positive impact on the lives of 100,000 chronically or critically ill children, or family members impacted by illness, in Middle Tennessee by the end of 2015.
"Combined, these six foundations are going to touch the lives of more than 500,000 children across the country - in just the next three years," Ginn said. "It's very cool to be a part of that."
Prolanthropy has been expanding as well. In the last six months, Prolanthropy has brought a communications manager, a director of communications, an event manager, a shipping and purchasing administrator and three interns onto the team, effectively doubling the staff.
